Today, there is increasing faith among teenagers and young people for
literature that teaches them how to achieve success, how to win friends, how to
achieve success in life, etc. A distinct market of such literature has
developed. In this market till a few years ago, the participation of English
writers was more, not Hindi. It is not that there is no such literature in
Hindi. Panchatantra includes almost all sides of life. Apart from this, there
are authors like Kanhaiya Lal Mishra Prabhakar, whose life smiles and other
books are no longer seen. Even his publisher, Jnanpith, has probably forgotten him.
Our affection for the newcomer increases when it is foreign, that's why we
adopted the inspiring writers of English and started to win the world and get
success. But no one thought or tried to think that others had to win themselves
before winning.

आज किशोरों व युवाओं
में ऐसे साहित्य के प्रति आस्था बढ़ती जा रही है जो उन्हें यह सिखाता है कि क़ामयाबी
कैसे पाएं, मित्रों को कैसे जीतें, जीवन में सफलता कैसे प्राप्त करें आदि-आदि। इस तरह
के साहित्य का एक अलग बाजार विकसित हो गया है। इस बाजार में कुछ साल पहले तक अंग्रेजी
के लेखकों की भागीदारी अधिक थी, हिंदी की नहीं। ऐसा नहीं है कि हिंदी में ऐसा साहित्य
नहीं है। पंचतंत्र में जीवन के करीब-करीब सभी पक्ष शामिल हैं। इसके अलावा कन्हैया लाल
मिश्र प्रभाकर जैसे लेखक हैं जिनकी जिंदगी मुस्कराई व अन्य पुस्तकें अब देखने को नहीं
मिलतीं। उसके प्रकाशक ज्ञानपीठ तक ने शायद उसे भुला दिया है। अस्तु, नवागत के प्रति
हमारा अनुराग तब और बढ़ जाता है जब वह विदेशी हो, इसीलिए अंग्रेजी के प्रेरक लेखकों
को हमने अपनाया और दुनिया को जीतने व सफलता पाने निकल पड़े। पर किसी ने नहीं सोचा या
सोचने की कोशिश की कि दूसरों को जीतने से पहले खुद को जीतना पड़ता है।
